The new Volvo XC90 has just recently been awarded the Top Safety Pick+ rating from the American Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The XC90 achieved top scores all round with full scores in all tests (crashworthiness and front crash prevention) as well as excelling in both preventive and protective safety performance.
The IIHS crashworthiness category consists of tests covering small overlap, moderate overlap, side, roof strength, head restraints and seats. Carrying on its winning streak the XC90 achieved top scores in all these tests and thanks to the standard City technology fitted in all new Volvo cars it was deemed superior in front crash prevention. This superior rating for front crash prevention also makes the XC90 one of the first cars with standard equipment to receive a Top Safety Pick+ award.
Cecilia Larson director of Volvo Cars commented that “Volvo is committed to its vision: by 2020 no one will be seriously injured or killed in a new Volvo Car” and with this newly set standard in car safety it looks like Volvo is on the way to achieving this vision.
In addition to these top safety scores, the outstanding XC90 has also recently scored top marks in the EURO NCAP testing – proving it is one of the safest cars on the road today.
The Volvo XC90 is available now from £45,785 OTR or just £559 per month at Sturgess Motor Group. To find out more, visit our dealership on Aylesbury Road, Leicester, or contact us using the buttons below.
