Jaguar’s rich racing heritage paves the way for the limited edition 2023 F-Pace SVR, specially designed by the company’s Special Vehicle Operations.
Limited to just 394 copies worldwide, this bespoke and uniquely rare Jaguar is a tribute to the brands 24 Hours of Le Mans victory in 1988, sporting the legendary ‘Silk Cut’ purple livery.
394 is the number of laps the XJR-9 completed on the way to its 1988 win and this victory is further noted by an emblem inside to signify the limited production run of vehicles.
Midnight Amethyst gloss paintwork adorns the outside of this breathtaking model, whilst Champagne Gold satin 22-inch forged alloy wheels feature Sunset Gold accents. There is also gold Jaguar lettering on the tailgate and laser-etched ‘Edition 1988’ logos on the front wings.
The Edition 1988 features the ‘Black Pack’ option from the rest of the line-up as standard but on top of this there are also black door mirror caps, brake calipers and centre caps. The letter R on the SVR badge is also finished in black.
The tailgate is emblazoned with a gold Jaguar script below the brand’s leaper logo. The SVR’s rear end stands out thanks to a set of polished quad-tipped exhaust pipes.
Inside, gold accents can be found on the contrast stitching of the black leather upholstery and the trim on the steering wheel, the dashboard vents and slots in the front seatbacks. The steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters that control the SVR’s eight-speed automatic transmission also get the glossy gold treatment.
Mark Turner, Commercial Director of Special Vehicle Operations, Jaguar, said: “Since its introduction in 2019, the Jaguar F-PACE SVR has established itself as a highly characterful and rewarding high-performance car. Pairing these qualities with a level of SV Bespoke personalisation and exclusivity never offered before on F-PACE makes Edition 1988 an even more captivating proposition. With strictly limited availability, we’re confident this will quickly become the most sought-after F-PACE SVR yet.”
Midnight Amethyst Gloss paintwork is a new colour that will only be offered to Jaguar F-PACE SVR Edition 1988 customers.
Richard Woolley, Special Vehicle Operations Creative Director, Jaguar said: “The design of the F-PACE SVR Edition 1988 is inspired by legendary Jaguar endurance racing cars. The Midnight Amethyst Gloss paintwork appears black until its amethyst undertones are revealed in bright sunshine, emphasising the SVR’s dynamic exterior. To achieve this dramatic Ultra Metallic Gloss finish, we assessed more than 40 variations to create the desired depth of colour.”
The 2023 Jaguar F-Pace SVR Edition 88 is currently available to order, (while supplies last, of course) and will furthermore be on display at the 24 Hours of Le Mans alongside the 1988 Le-Mans winning XJR-9 that inspired its creation between the 8th and 12th June and then again at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from June 23rd to 26th.
