WORLD PREMIER OF SUZUKI’S EV CONCEPT MODEL eVX

Suzuki’s first global strategic EV concept model, the eVX has just made its debut at the Maruti Suzuki Pavillion, Auto Expo 2023 in Delhi, India.

Scheduled to be introduced to the market by 2025, the eVX is an all-electric concept SUV and is a BEV model that combines Suzuki’s strong 4x4 DNA along with the advanced features of the latest BEV’s.

Its exterior has been designed to be instantly recognisable as a Suzuki SUV with short overhangs and muscular wheel arches that create an off-road-ready-looking side view. In addition, it aims to carry forward the brand’s unique 4x4 legacy into the new electric era to deliver nothing short of a true Suzuki driving experience.

The production eVX is likely to use a two-speed gearbox made by Canadian firm Inmotive, with which Suzuki recently announced a joint-development agreement. The two companies will work to develop the ‘Ingear’ transmission, claimed to be the world’s most efficient two-speed gearbox, capable of improving acceleration and range by up to 15%.

In a press briefing at Auto Expo 2023, President Toshihiro Suzuki said, “I am delighted to unveil the eVX, our first global strategic EV. At the Suzuki Group, addressing global warming is a top priority. We are promoting a range of global measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Suzuki will continue providing valuable products to our customers around the world by optimising them for the way different people live and drive.”

With an overall length of 4,300mm x Width 1,800mm x Height 1,600mm, a battery capacity of 60kWh and a range of 550km, (measured in modified Indian driving cycle (MIDC)), this is a world premiere that is as exciting as they get.
