Revolutionary design, electrifying performance. Just a few of the words that sum up the Hyundai Tucson which has just been named ‘Best Family Car’ by BBC Top Gear.
Of the 50 family cars tested by the world’s leading motoring show, the Tucson was crowned top choice on the popular show by presenters Freddie Flintoff, Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris in front of an audience of millions.
Since its launch in early 2021, the Tucson is nothing short of a full-blown design revolution, leading the way in progressive design with its sophisticated, rugged design. Taking modern aesthetics to the next level, its chiselled surfaces and dynamic lines put it at the edge of SUV design. Its muscular stance combines sharp angles and dynamic proportions with rich surfaces – creating a progressive look without compromising on Tucson’s rugged SUV heritage.
Stepping into the Tucson’s sophisticated and spacious interior and you enter a world where everyday concerns just melt away. Here is where space, technology and information intersect harmoniously. Featuring sensuous forms inspired by waterfalls, high quality soft touch materials are applied throughout the interior, giving you the ultimate in comfort at all levels.
With best-in-class advanced driver-assistance systems and a comprehensive active safety package, the Tucson delivers even more safety and peace of mind for the most confident of drives, with every model fitted with Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA) and Muti Collision Braking (MCA) as standard.
Top Gear’s recognition of the Tucson follows a string of high-profile awards for Hyundai’s current passenger car range, including World Car of the Year 2022, World Electric Vehicle of the Year 2022 and World Car Design of the Year 2022 for the electric IONIQ 5, the Tucson itself was named Best Family Car by Carbuyer and Best Mid-Sized SUV by Auto Express for the second year in a row.
Buyers certainly seems to agree with the results as the Tucson has become the most popular mid-size SUV for private buyers in the UK so far this year. In one of the most competitive sectors, the Tucson has secured 5.4% share of the retail market.
Ashley Andrew, Managing Director, Hyundai Motor UK, said: - “Top Gear has become much loved viewing over the past 20 years with its unique take on the motoring world, but as well as providing great entertainment, the show’s opinion really matters for millions of viewers. We are particularly pleased the show and its team of experts have recognised what a great choice for families the Tucson is, especially with its revolutionary design, range of technology and its electrified options. Our exceptional product range has picked up a number of important awards over the past 12 months and this caps off a great year. The really exciting thing is that there is much more to look forward to from Hyundai in 2023.”
