Suzuki Announce Details for the New Vitara

The Suzuki Vitara made its debut over 25 years ago and there have been plenty of changes in size, shape and performance since the initial launch in 1988!

Back for 2015 the latest Vitara model continues the tradition of balancing great on road performance with a genuine off-road capability. The all-new Vitara is smaller than the previous models in order to meet contemporary needs and is available with Suzuki's exclusive ALLGRIP four-wheel drive technology.

The Suzuki Vitara is powered by either the M16A 1.6-litre petrol engine or the D16AA 1.6-litre DDiS engine. The petrol engine uses reduced friction coupled with weight reductions in the engine and related components to really help lower the fuel economy figure whilst still achieving high output and torque. The diesel engine features a new Exhaust Gas Recirculation system and an electronically controlled Variable Geometry Turbocharger to again, maintain high performance levels whilst maintaining remarkably low levels of emissions.

The low emissions are a result of the upgraded engine, but also due to the use of high tensile steel and other weight reductions throughout the body and an Engine Stop Start System – designed to shut the engine off when stationary. The petrol engine 2WD model has an official CO2 emissions figure of 123g/km on the five-speed manual and 127g/km on the six-speed Automatic, whilst the diesel 2WD produces just 106g/km with a six-speed manual transmission.

The four-wheel drive model produces an astoundingly low CO2 emissions figure for a four-wheel drive SUV, just 130g/km on the five-speed manual model and 131g/km on the six-speed automatic, while the diesel four-wheel drive model only produces 111g/km. With such low levels of emissions across the full range of 2015 Vitara's you will be able to drive a four-wheel drive SUV for your everyday vehicle, without having to worry about the environmental effects.

The Suzuki Vitara is available in SZ4, SZ-T and SZ-5 grades and all models come with a fantastic range of standard features including alloy wheels, DAB digital radio with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, automatic air conditioning, front and rear electric windows and projector headlamps.

Designed with personalisation in mind, the Vitara is available ten exterior body colours, including five two-tone combinations and several items are available to add to the interior, such as; Instrument panel trim, ventilation louvre rings and a centrally located lock. Owners can also choose to emphasise their new Vitara's on or off-road credentials by choosing between the Urban package – with fog lamp bezels, body-side mouldings and roof spoiler – or the Rugged package – Front and rear skid plates, fog lamp bezels, body-side mouldings and loading edge protection.

Prices for the Suzuki Vitara begin from just £13,999 for the two-wheel drive models while the four-wheel drive models start from as little as £19,499.
