Land Rover has unveiled its exciting new Range Rover Sport SVR at the Moscow International Auto Show (MIAS), making its global auto show debut.
It's built by the new Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations, who have created the fastest and most powerful Land Rover ever. Based on the current Range Rover Sport, it has all the comfort and all-terrain versatility that you'd expect from a Range Rover – but has lapped Germany's legendary Nurburgring racetrack in just 8 minutes 14 seconds!
The Range Rover Sport SVR's range-topping 5.0L supercharged V8 engine produces an incredibly 550PS and 680Nm of torque, and can accelerate to 62mph in a staggering 4.7 seconds.
The engine has been twinned with an optimised ZF 8HP70 8-speed automatic transmission and a four wheel drive chassis for astonishing performance, whatever the weather.
The SVR's fuel economy and CO2 emissions are unaffected by the extra performance, and remain identical to the V8 Supercharged model at 22.1 MPG and 325g/km. It's achieved by maximising the full potential of the Range Rover Sport's lightweight and robust all-aluminium body and class-leading levels of low internal friction.
The Range Roger Sport SVR showcases a range of new technologies, including next generation HMI to assist with a wide range of infotainment options that do not distract the driver, and innovative Transparant Bonnet technology, laser referencing and laser scanning for extra off-road support.
“The Range Rover Sport SVR is a natural progression beyond the core vehicle's outstanding on- and off-road capabilities and leading-edge design," said John Edwards, Managing Director of Land Rover's Special Operations.
“It's exhilarating performance will satisfy a particularly demanding customer set... The Range Rover Sport SVR is truly the word's most capable performance SUV."
The new Range Rover Sport SVR will go on sale in October priced from £93,450 and deliveries will start from early 2015.
