Jaguar XE reaches shortlist for 2016 European Car of the Year

Up against 35 candidates the Jaguar XE has reached the shortlist for the 2016 European Car of the Year Awards along with only 6 other competitors.

Judging the awards are 52 jurors who represent 22 European countries. The winner will be announced on the 29th February 2016 and key criteria that will be assessed for the award are technical innovation and value for money.

Developed using Jaguar’s Lightweight Aluminium Architecture, the XE is both the most-fuel efficient and cheapest cost of ownership for any Jaguar, boasting class-leading residual values and CO2 emissions from just 99g/km. Together with this is its highly sophisticated double wishbone and Integral suspension systems which in turn, provide a faultless combination of ride, handling and refinement.

With these qualities, along with a dramatic Jaguar design, it is no wonder the XE has achieved an impressive 23 global awards. Safety on the Jaguar XE is first-class too thanks to its firm body structure and driving assistance systems such as Autonomous Emergency Breaking, which has helped in the model also achieving the maximum five star safety rating from Euro NCAP.

Kevin Stride, Vehicle Line Director, Jaguar XE, XF, F-PACE said that the team were “delighted that the Jaguar XE has made it onto the short list for the European Car of the Year” and that the vehicle was engineered with a “no-compromise approach.” He and the rest of the team are looking forward to hearing the winner in February.

The Jaguar XE is currently available at Sturgess Motor Group from only £329 per month, for more information about this current offer click here.
