Hyundai Motor Company unveiled a new ix25 concept model at the 2014 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition this month. The new concept is a small-sized SUV, and is scheduled to be launched exclusively in China later this year.
The ix25 concept uses Hyundai's new Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design, and is equipped with a Nu 2.0 engine. It measures 4,270mm long, 1,780mm wide and 1,630mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,590mm.
The ix25 is designed to target younger customers who want a car that combines both style and practicality. The 'i' in ix25 represents the 'inspiring, intelligent and innovative' characteristics of the young generation.
"Hyundai Motor has grown into a leading automaker in China through continuous innovation for the past 11 years," said Hyundai Motor's President Sung Kee Choi. "Hyundai Motor is now poised for a new challenge to become the most-loved brand by Chinese customers, with high-quality models such as the ix25 SUV, which is
strategically-developed for China, and the all-new Genesis introduced today."
The other 18 vehicles on show included the Hyundai Genesis, which made its Chinese debut at the show, its i20 WRC car, the ix35, and the Santa Fe, and Hyundai's new technologies such as its next-generation infotainment system.
