After revealing their new model earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show, Volvo is kicking of their 90-year anniversary by starting the production of the New XC60 Mid-Size SUV, which will be made in Gothenburg, Sweden.
With perfect timing, it was 90 years ago that the world saw the first ever Volvo ÖV4 and continuing on their legacy of providing safety on the road, the new XC60 is said to be the safest car ever made, offering the latest safety features including new oncoming lane migration and an upgraded steer assist system to help avoid head-on collisions.
“Volvo is very proud of its history. The past 90 years have been exciting but the 10 years left until the 100-year anniversary may come to be more exciting as industry focus shifts to autonomous driving, electrification and connectivity. The new xc60 is in many ways the embodiment of these trends” - Håkan Samuelsson, chief executive of Volvo Cars
Replacing the old XC60 released back in 2008, the new XC60 is set for another record year of sales for 2017.
