Jaguar introduced their new Jaguar F-PACE in true style by setting a Guinness World Record for the largest ever loop-the-loop.As it completed the giant 19.08 metre tall loop the F-PACE withstood extreme forces of 6.5G showcasing its exceptional performance, agility and strength.
The all-new Jaguar F-PACE is a performance crossover from Jaguar and is the first SUV in Jaguar’s 70 year history. It’s designed to be sporty but still suitable for family life with the Design Director, Ian Callum describing the F-PACE as “our family sports car”.
The F-PACE has a number of derived chassis technologies including Torque Vectoring, Adaptive Dynamics and Configurable Dynamics to offer a satisfying driving experience.
All-Wheel Drive and Adaptive Surface Response (ASR) deliver reassuring levels of grip for all-weather confidence. The ASR has been derived from Land Rover’s Terrain Response System and is designed to allow the F-PACE to perform on a range of low-grip surfaces.
Another interesting feature is the new ‘activity key’. This is a waterproof wristband that allows users to go off and do watersports and other activities without having to carry the car’s key. The key can be kept securely locked inside the vehicle, perfect for those with an active lifestyle.
The all-new F-PACE has been engineered to face rigorous safety standards worldwide and provides exceptional levels of occupant and pedestrian protection. The modern stereo camera at the heart of the Autonomous Emergency Breaking system now features a pedestrian detection function and also enables Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, an Intelligent Speed Limiter and Driver Condition Monitor Systems.
The powertrain range for the F-PACE will consist of 178HP 2.0 litre diesel (manual RWD/AWD and automatic AWD; an automatic 237HP 2.0 litre petrol RWD; an automatic 296HP 3.0 litre diesel AWD and 335 or 375HP options of the 4x4 petrol V6.
Jaguar has confirmed that with the fastest 375HP supercharged V6 petrol engine, the F-PACE can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 5.1 seconds on the way to a limited top speed of 155mph.
Interior and Infotainment
Inside, the new F-PACE is packed with world-leading technology including the new, super-fast and advanced In Control Touch Pro infotainment system. The premium system is based around a 10.2-inch touchscreen, resulting in outstanding graphics. In addition, the system is complemented by an array of specially developed apps and a Wi-Fi hotspot that allows up to eight mobile devices to connect at once.
The F-PACE also offers ample space with a large 650 litre luggage compartment and seating for five adults with generous knee and head room. Further unique design details include embossed Windsor leather seats and special carpet mats.
From the front it’s unmistakeably Jaguar. The headlights are similar to those on the new XE and XF, and the gaping grille has been carried over from other models in the range. The double wishbone front suspension and sophisticated integral link rear suspension add to the enhanced performance of the new F-PACE.
To keep the F-PACE as light and dynamic as possible the body structure comprises of 80 percent aluminium, resulting in the rear-wheel 178HP diesel manual transmission weighing as little as 1,665kg.
