Jaguar Land Rover has had a roaring success at the prestigious Autonis design awards, winning three trophies as voted by readers of Germany’s leading motoring magazine, ‘Auto Motor und Sport’.
In the 15th annual reader survey, 115 cars competed across ten categories with more than 17,500 votes cast. Leading the upper middle class category was the Jaguar XF with 42% share of votes. Surprisingly this beat even local competition from the Audi A6 (35%) and the BMW 7-series (30.5%).
For the middle class group the all-new Jaguar XE came out on top scooping 36% of votes, relegating the Mercedes C-Class (29%) and BMW 3-series (28%) to second and third place. Jaguar also took home the silver medal in the design and brand of the year class.
Further success was celebrated with Land Rover with the Range Rover Evoque winning in the SUV category by the biggest margin of all award entrants. The Evoque was in a league of its own receiving almost twice as many votes (45%) that its closest rivals the Audi Q3 (23%) and the BMW X1 (23%).
Creative Director of Exterior Design at Jaguar, Adam Hatton said that “having the XE and XF voted most attractive by Auto Motor Und Sport readers is a testament to design philosophy and brand values of Jaguar.” He further explained that the models have “incorporated aerodynamic design and aluminium materials to create the lightest, stiffest, most dynamic and attractive Jaguars yet.”
