Hyundai’s new compact SUV – the Tucson, has just recently received the maximum five-star safety rating from the independent vehicle assessment organisation Euro NCAP. This result highlights Hyundai’s approach in democratising technology across its range for a safer drive all-round.
The All-New Tucson offers new active and passive safety features and although only the Lane Keeping Assist System and the Speed Limit Information functions were taken into account the Tucson provides a lot more. Within the host of safety features the All-New Tucson is equipped with an Active Hood System as standard for increased pedestrian safety. This feature raises the vehicle’s hood to cushion the impact shock in a frontal pedestrian collision. Along with this is the other innovative safety technologies on offer including: Blind Spot Detector, Rear-Cross Traffic Alert, Vehicle Stability Management and Autonomous Emergency Braking System which alerts the driver to unexpected emergency situations and will brake autonomously if necessary.
Thomas Schmid, Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor Europe commented that “The All-New Tuscan introduces a wide array of new safety technologies at an accessible price” and that the “five star rating from Euro NCAP is further evidence that quality and safety are built into our new cars”.
The All-New Tuscan is on sale now throughout Europe. With its winning safety features, bold design and premium comfort it is set to build on Hyundai’s current SUV success which has sold more than 1.2 million SUVs in Europe.
