The Fiat 500 range has been enhanced and updated for 2014, with the introduction of new alloy wheels, paint colours, seats and upholstery.
Two brand new paint options are a retro green and a new three-layer white, while the S model will be offered in a striking new blue. New alloy wheels, seat fabrics and leather upholsteries also complete the new looks.
However, the biggest change is inside. The new Fiat 500 introduces an innovative seven inch TFT digital instrument display, the first vehicle in its class to have this feature. The TFT display brings together all the information required for controlling the car and its functions, without disrupting the stylish, retro looks of the cabin.
Information displayed on the new monitor includes the speedometer, rev counter and trip computer, which can be read quickly and easily at a glance. The centre of the console has a digital image of the car, which can be configured to show various readouts, such as distance travelled, fuel consumption and fuel range, and allow for warning messages to be more prominent, such as open door warnings. The TFT screen also reconfigures when the Sport button is activated on models with the new 105hp 0.9 TwinAir Turbo engine, transforming into a turbo-boost gauge.
The new 105hp 0.9 TwinAir Turbo engine has a highly efficient turbo charger, an exhaust manifold integrated into the cylinder head, a Start&Stop fuel-saving system and the new MultiAir II intake valve control system. Combined, this provides an even more enticing combination of power and efficiency. The new engine delivers 0 to 62mph in just 10 seconds, and achieves CO2 emissions of just 99g/km. Fiat 500 models fitted with the TwinAir 105hp engine are also equipped with rear disc brakes as standard.
2014 also sees the new Fiat 500 Cult added to the range. The Cult is the new top-of-the-range model, increasing the already high specification of the Lounge model. Equipment includes new 16" alloy wheels with a new design, a gloss black roof panel, chrome or gloss black door mirror covers, chrome exterior detailing, a gloss black surround for the tail light clusters and rear parking sensors. Inside, Cult drivers can enjoy leather seats in either black leather (with ivory or red inserts), tobacco leather (with ivory inserts) or red leather (with ivory inserts).
The 2014 Fiat 500 will go on sale at the end of April, with pricing to be announced closer to the car's launch.
