Why Go Electric? If you're thinking about making a change on your driveway for the first time in about 10 years, you now have more options than you would've had last time you were car shopping.

The benefits of buying electric

Making the change from petrol or diesel power to hybrid and electric performance is one that all motorists are likely to make sooner rather than later. And, with the list of advantages growing, it makes perfect sense to switch now. From lower CO2 emissions to improved running costs, fewer maintenance issues to exemption from congestion charges and road tax, there’s never been a better time to become part of the electric revolution.

Key benefits

  • Improved fuel economy
  • Reduction in harmful CO2 emissions
  • More affordable running costs
  • Increased torque

The two power sources that make up a Hybrid vehicle is a standard combustion engine alongside a battery-powered motor. The benefits of having both is that the engine will automatically switch between the two engines to improve your fuel economy without any intervention.

    Plug-in Hybrid

Plug-ins work similar to a standard hybrid vehicle, but due to the higher capacity battery, users can enjoy extended fully electric driving when travelling short distances. A benefit of a plug-in hybrid is that even when the battery is not charged, the vehicle will still work as a conventional hybrid.

    Battery Electric

Battery Electric vehicles are solely powered by an electric battery, meaning that there is no engine and no need for traditional fuels. They can be charged at home or on the go by plugging into an electrical socket or charging station which can be take up to several hours.

Batteries on hybrid cars don't run out of charge, as they are charged by the excess energy your car generates. In addition, the system will introduce the petrol engine should you require more power than is available through the electric motor alone, or if the battery charge drops to an insufficient level to maintain progress
