Suzuki Swift to be improved with new engine

The Suzuki Swift is going to get even better – with a more economical engine.

The new 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine achieves 65.7 MPG on the EC Combined fuel consumption cycle, which is an impressive 16% increase on the current 1.2L petrol engine.

The new engine also benefits from CO2 emissions of only 99g/km, resulting in free road tax – which is great news for motorists!

These improvements were achieved with the addition of Engine Auto Stop Start (EASS), as well as the new Dualjet technology. Dualjet technology positions the fuel injectors close to the engine inlet valves, allowing for a finer fuel atomosation and a more effective transfer into the cylinder.

The 1.2L Dualjet engine has a power output of 90PS and a slightly increased torque figure of 120Nm at 4,400 rpm, so the Swift will continue to be great fun to drive.

The new 1.2L Dualjet engine will initially be available as an optional engine choice on the SZ4 two wheel drive models, and will cost an additional £500. It is due to go on sale early next year.
