Land Rover has unveiled a new Discovery XXV Special Edition, to celebrate the 25 th anniversary of the launch of the versatile SUV.
First launched in 1989, the Discovery revolutionised the 4X4 landscape, combining contemporary design, spacious interiors and unflinching capability. With the release of each new generation, the Land Rover Discovery has cemented its position as the most capable, versatile SUV in the world. It has taken on numerous intercontinental challenges and has proven it is as comfortable taking on everyday urban journeys as it is tackling the most difficult and remote landscapes.
The new XXV has been built to commemorate the Discovery's history, with a choice of four new body colours, distinctive badging and a sophisticated premium interior with Windsor leather.
Externally, the XXV features Narvik Black grille surrounds and mirror caps, and Dark Atlas grille and fender vents. The full-length roof rails are silver, and it features body-coloured handles and a stainless steel bumper accessory tread plate. The special edition is also fitted with new 20" five-split-spoke forged alloy wheels in a polished silver finish.
Inside, the XXV Special Edition builds on the Discovery's HSE specification, and features a premium interior lined with Windsor leather. In addition, there are additional luxurious twist pile carpet mats and subtle XXV embossing throughout.
Phil Popham, Group Marketing Director at Jaguar Land Rover, said "Since its inception the Land Rover Discovery has been pivotal to the success of the brand and has now become an iconic design in its own right. Discovery has led the way in terms of innovation, featuring technologies such as Terrain Response, which made off-roading much more accessible. The Discovery XXV Special Edition is the ultimate in sophisticated versatility and a fitting tribute to the legendary status of this iconic Land Rover."
