Hyundai will unveil the All-New Tucson at the Geneva
International Motor Show next month – a brand new Compact-SUV model offering the
highest levels of design, quality and technology.
The new model comes on the back of fantastic sales figures for Hyundai in the SUV segment, with over one million SUV's sold to European customers – 116,000 of those to the UK – really securing a strong foothold in the ever-expanding SUV market.
A uniquely designed exterior really sets the All-New Tucson apart from other SUV models, adopting strong SUV style proportions but with a sleek and agile look.
Peter Schreyer, President and Chief Design Officer at Hyundai Motor Group said: “Design expresses our progressive spirit and passion, and it is transforming our brand. The All-New Tucson has a bold and athletic presence achieved through refined, flowing surfaces, bold proportions, sharp lines and most importantly, our newest generation hexagonal grille – our brand signature."
The Hyundai signature hexagonal front grille features prominently and is connected to the LED headlamps to give the All-New Tucson a distinctive front face. The wheel arches have been designed to accentuate the cars agile and dynamic feel, even when stationary. The rear has a clean feel to it, with horizontal lines and slim tail lights.
The All-New Tucson will come available with a huge range of different powertrains. Choose from two petrol engines,135PS (1.6-litre GDI) or 176PS (1.6-litre T-GDI), plus three diesel options, 115PS (1.7-litre), 136PS (2.0-litre standard power) or an 184PS (2.0-litre high powered). All engines have been manufactured to optimise fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions as well as meeting Euro 6 standards.
When it comes to safety, the All-New Tucson is one of the best equipped vehicles in the C-SUV segment thanks to the introduction of lots of new technologies like the Autonomous Emergency Braking System. It has three different modes, pedestrian, city and inter-urban, which automatically react to people or vehicles in front when it detects an unsafe closing speed.
Other new safety features include Lane Keeping Assist System, Rear Traffic Cross Alert System, Blind Spot Detection, Speed Limit Information Function and The Active Bonnet System.
The interior has a really premium feel, with a new soft-touch, high quality material across the cabin coupled with a simplistic centre console. There is plenty of interior space too - thanks to clever packaging and excellent interior dimensions the All-New Tucson can easily seat 5 people and still maintain a substantial luggage capacity of 513-litres! The All-New Tuscon also introduces several new convenience features. Enjoy heated, ventilated seats with longer seating cushions for enhanced support and comfort, and the Smart Parking Assist System with parallel and bay parking function, making parking simple. Its brand new satellite navigation system is more than three times faster than the version used on previous Hyundai models and comes with a free seven year subscription to TomTom LIVE services.
Due to make its World Premiere at the Geneva International Motor Show early next month, the All-New Tucson will go on sale in the second half of 2015. Prices are to be announced closer to the release date.
