Hyundai to Introduce Two New Models

The 2015 International Motor Show in Frankfurt takes place next week and Hyundai will be using it as the platform to showcase new models, innovative technology and futuristic concepts.

The all-new i20 Active and Sante Fe models will both make their debuts on the Hyundai stand, completing the company’s youngest ever model line-up – with every model being less than two years old.

The Hyundai i20 Active

The i20 Active will expand on the current i20 range when it arrives in showrooms in early 2016. The compact crossover will join the i20 five-door and the i20 Coupe to complete the i20 range and give customers an even wider choice of distinctive and versatile models.

The i20 Active has a striking crossover stance, with revised suspension settings to increase the ground clearance by an additional 20mm over the five-door model and the seating position has been raised to improve visibility.  Front and rear skid plates and wheel arch cladding complete the i10 Active’s crossover look.

The new three-cylinder 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine is available with two different power outputs, a 100HP version altered to maximise fuel economy and a 120 HP for customers looking for something a bit more powerful.

The Hyundai Santa Fe

Hyundai’s longest running European model returns as the all-new Santa Fe offers customers a refined and innovative SUV package with a number of exciting design enhancements and an impressive array of new safety features.

Autonomous Emergency Braking, Rear-Cross Traffic Alert, Smart Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and High Beam Assist have all been added to improve driver safety and convenience. The new athletic exterior design and modernised cabin perfectly reflect the latest Hyundai family look.

Enhanced Connectivity

Earlier this year Hyundai became the first car manufacturer to introduce Android Auto when it implemented it into the US Hyundai Sonata at the beginning of the year. Now, they will become one of the first to introduce the smartphone software in Europe when the New i40 arrives in November 2015.

The Android Auto system allows users to connect their smartphone to the screen of Hyundai’s infotainment unit, giving them access to a world of apps that allow them to stream music, play the radio, make calls, have text messages read out and even find local points of interest – all without taking their eyes off the road.

Thomas A. Schmid, Chief Operating Officer at Hyundai Motor Europe, said: “With the new i20 Active and New Santa Fe we further broaden our European crossover and SUV family, with all models renewed or replaced this year. These two new models also enhance our youngest ever line-up in Europe. The first eight months of 2015 were our most successful in Europe ever. And we are preparing the way for further organic growth during 2015 and beyond.”

Vision G Concept

Also on display at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt will be the futuristic Vision G concept, highlighting Hyundai’s vision for the future and showcasing their advanced technologies.

The unique concept car has been developed by personnel from all of Hyundai’s Design Centres around the world and includes exciting new features such as a sweeping touchscreen display which adds to the premium feel of the interior.

Jochen Sengpiehl, Vice President of Marketing at Hyundai Motor Europe, commented on the latest concept: “In line with our Modern Premium strategic direction, we are upgrading the Hyundai brand and creating new possibilities for our customers. Vision G shows the inspiration for future Hyundai design and premium products while Hyundai adds further emotion to our brand.”

The International Motor Show in Frankfurt begins on the 15th September.
