Many bodyshops have insurer approvals. Sturgess are Manufacturer Approved, Trained and Audited. This allows us to complete repairs to your vehicle without being compromised by a contract with the insurer.

My insurance company says that I must use their "approved repairer" but I have always used Sturgess to repair and maintain my car - are they correct?

No. Most insurers will have their own network of 'approved repairers' who they prefer to use. But will these Bodyshops know the exact placing and number of weld points, or weld at the correct temperature in a given repair, or have the correct tools for the job? Do they have the correct mechanical and electrical skill levels?

Have they been trained by the manufacturer’s to repair those cars?Y

You are fully entitled to use the bodyshop of your choice when repairing your vehicle.

The only way to guarantee the repair to your vehicle is up to manufacturer specifications is by using a manufacturer approved bodyshop. This way you can be sure that they will have access to the necessary specialist tools, information
and training and use genuine parts in the repair.

When speaking to your insurance company simply request that the repair is carried out at Sturgess Bodycraft, or for further peace of mind call the accident assistance lines who will make the necessary arrangements on your behalf.

Your car is often your second most valuable asset after your home.

You and your family will travel in your motor vehicle at speeds of up to 70 mph.

Don't accept any compromise in the quality of repair to your car.

Insurance companies arrange accident repairs to keep their own costs down.
Does keeping their costs down mean repairing your car cheaply?
What level of service and quality of repair will you receive?
Will original manufacturer parts be used or imitation parts?
Will your manufacturer's warranty remain intact?

Imitation, or non-OE (Original Parts), parts may not fit correctly. They are sometimes provided without surface, or rust,
protection. Using non-OE parts could invalidate your manufacturer's warranty.

Whether you are insured fully comprehensive or third party, the process of pursuing a claim can be complex, time consuming and stressful.
