Alfa Romeo will once again be taking part in the Coppa d`Ori delle Dolomiti with a 1963 Giulia TI Super. The car will be driven by Arturo Merzario. The Giulia is one of the rarest of its kind with its 4 cylinder twin cam engine helping raise a generation of racing drivers.
The first edition of the race, held in 1947 was won by Alfa Romeo with a 6C 2500 SS.
The competition is 600 kilometers long and will consist of three stages. The Italian regions of Veneto, Trentio Alto Adige and Friuli will be crossed with climbs over 14 mountain passes.
It will be opened by the new Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio.
A powerful 510 HP, six cylinder 2.9 litre turbo petrol engine, inspired by Ferrari technology, delivers top speed of 190 mph and a 0 to 60 time of 3.9 seconds.
The new Giulia also received five star in the Euro NCAP tests and scored 98% in adult protection, which is the highest score ever achieved by a car.
