Two iconic Alfa Romeo cars were on display at CarFest recently, showcasing more than 40 years of class-leading technology, performance and breathtaking design.
Despite the rain, the Alfa Giulia GTA and Alfa 4C were the stars of CarFest! The 4C raced up the CarFest hill climb track which had been improved and extended.
There was aslso the new Quadrifoglio Verde range on display at the Alfa Romeo stand, showing off these new models and features.
CarFest North was held at the Oulton Park racetrack in Cheshire, while CarFest South took the event to Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire, owned by former Formula 1 champion Jody Scheckter. Created by broadcaster and Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans, CarFest aims to raise money for BBC Children in Need while bringing together a host of spectacular cars, air displays, live music, and a range of other entertainments.
Chris Evans said, “We danced the rain away! Sure, we splashed our way through a few puddles, but the party revved up and rocked on. Most importantly, though, we have all raised yet more money for BBC Children in Need. A huge 'thank you' to everyone who came along: the parents, the children, the performers, those who provided all the fabulous cars – all those who came to the CarFest party and made it so special."
A minimum of 25% of the price of each ticket goes to BBC Children in Need, with £1.1 million raised in 2013.
